Your position appears as a glasses icon on other users' maps. A new random ID is generated every launch, positions are shown ~1–2 min late, and all data is auto-deleted after 10 min — no history is kept. Disable this to stay invisible while still seeing other drivers.

Convoy

Create or join up to five convoys with an invite link, QR, or Convoy ID and invite secret.

Joining a convoy route shares your live location with that group until you leave the route.

Deep Beta features are experimental. They may be unstable, change without notice, use more processing or network resources, and display incomplete or stale information.

Navigaze notices where you drive and when. When you open it at a time you usually go somewhere, it offers that trip on the map — one tap to route, or dismiss it and it stays quiet.

This never leaves your device. Navigaze has no accounts and no servers for this — your trip history is stored on your phone and glasses only, alongside your saved places. Nothing is uploaded, and no route is calculated until you tap the suggestion.

In Transit mode, shared bikes and scooters you can rent appear on the phone map alongside the bus and metro stops. Tap one for the operator, how many are left, and how far it is.

What it covers

About 1,250 systems in 47 countries, including Capital Bikeshare, Citi Bike, BIXI, Divvy, Vélib', nextbike, Dott, Lime, Bird and Voi — 95 of the world's 134 largest cities.

Coverage follows what operators publish. It is strongest across Europe and North America; most of Asia-Pacific and Australia have no public feeds at all, so nothing will appear there even where the services exist.

How it works

• Switch to Transit mode. Anything within about 1.5 km is pinned on the map — green for bikes, purple for scooters and mopeds.
• Docked systems show bikes available and free docks — the second number matters, because a full station has nowhere to leave the bike.
• A station that is closed, empty, or not renting is never pinned.
• Once you have one, tap it and choose Got it. Navigaze switches to Bike mode and re-routes to the same destination — whether you unlocked a bicycle or a scooter, what you are doing next is riding.
• It refreshes about once a minute, or sooner if you have moved 150 m.
• Searching bike share or scooter finds them in any mode, further out, with live counts.

Navigaze does not rent you the bike or take a payment — unlocking still happens in the operator's own app. This tells you what is there before you go looking.

Nothing about this appears on the glasses. Before 1.11.241 the nearest one was a line on the lens in Walk and Transit; a map is the honest way to show where things are, and the lens is for the road ahead.

How it works

• Switch to Bike or Walk mode while not navigating. An 8-second prompt asks if you want to start tracking — tap Yes.
• The exercise bar shows active time, distance, and average pace. The same stats appear on the glasses HUD, replacing the clock line.
• Tap the pause button (two bars) to freeze the clock and stop accumulating distance. Paused time is excluded from pace. Tap the play icon to resume.
• Tap Stop when you are done. A results card appears with your full summary, a map image of your route, and a Share button.
• The Share button opens your phone's native share sheet so you can send your results to Messages, Instagram, or anywhere else.
• Every completed workout is saved automatically to your device.
• On Android, Navigaze syncs Health Connect through AppsBridge when it is available. Use Sync Health Connect in Past workouts to force a refresh.
• Strava sync coming soon — one-tap upload of your route from the results card, for Navigaze Pro subscribers.

Navigaze Pro users do not need to provide their own API keys because supported services are included with their subscription. Pro users may still enter personal API keys if they prefer to use their own accounts.

Navidrome

Navidrome can either mirror now-playing metadata from another Subsonic client or play a loaded track directly through the phone WebView. The G2 HUD shows the same normalized media state either way.

Navidrome setup help

1. Enter your Navidrome server URL, username, and password.
2. Leave the client name blank to use the first active playback client.
3. If more than one client is active, paste the client name shown after testing.
4. To make Navigaze the player, select Navidrome player on this phone, search below, load a track, then use the existing media gestures.
5. Use HTTPS or a trusted local network because Subsonic authentication is sent to your server.

Music Assistant

Turns Navigaze into a Music Assistant Sendspin player. Add your Music Assistant server URL, an access token for proxy mode, then tap connect once to unlock phone audio.

Music Assistant setup help

1. Run Music Assistant and make sure Sendspin playback is enabled.
2. Enter the Music Assistant server URL, for example homeassistant.local:8095 or 192.168.1.10:8095.
3. Use authenticated proxy mode for /sendspin on the MA web port; paste a Music Assistant access token.
4. Use direct local mode only when the phone can reach the Sendspin port directly, usually 8927.
5. Tap Connect player once from this phone to register the Navigaze HUD player and enable HUD playback controls.
6. In Music Assistant, open Players, select the Navigaze HUD player, and turn off Hide this player.

Apple Music through MusicKit

Requires your Apple developer-token relay. Do not put an Apple private key in Navigaze or browser storage. MusicKit may create its own web playback session instead of mirroring the native Apple Music app.

1. Use MusicKit only when you have an Apple developer-token relay. Do not save an Apple private key in Navigaze.
2. Create a MusicKit identifier and private key in Apple Developer.
3. Generate developer tokens from a protected relay, then paste the relay URL here.
4. MusicKit may start a separate web playback session.

Privacy and credits

Spotify requests playback read and playback-control scopes only. Navidrome and Music Assistant credentials are saved on this device and sent only to the server URL you enter. Apple Music developer tokens must come from your protected relay.

Community references: spotify-g2 by Yann Rapaport, Orpheus by L3G, even-g2-spotify by Charlie Winters, and DisplayPlusMusic by Oliemanq. Unlicensed projects were studied only; their code is not copied into Navigaze.

Switch modes using the round buttons on the left side of the phone, or from the in-glasses menu.

• Drive — Speed + limit sign, turn arrow + street name, and optional media controls. Ambient shows speed and limit only.
• Motorcycle — Same route data as Drive, optimized for a helmet visor.
• Bike — Mini-map, compass, clock, speed, weather, and turn instructions. The in-glasses menu can start Track Ride.
• Walk — Same layout as Bike. The in-glasses menu can start Track Run.
• Transit — Nearby departures, live countdowns, and on-vehicle stop progress.
• Minimal — Just your speed, nothing else.

In-glasses menu

• Launch from glasses — opens directly into the in-glasses menu.
• Launch from phone — opens directly into the last-used HUD.
• Double-tap from the HUD — opens the in-glasses menu. Scroll to move, tap to select.
• Main menu double-tap — shows the native exit prompt.
• Submenu double-tap — goes back one menu level.
• During navigation — the active menu shows End Route, Add Stop, and Return to HUD. Double-tap returns to the main menu.

Voice search

• Voice Search uses the glasses microphone only.
• It checks Home, Work, and saved places first, then nearby places, then address search.
• Examples: Home, McDonald's, coffee, or a street address.
• Included with Navigaze Pro — or add your own free speech-provider key in Settings › Voice & speech.
• Voice Search is available from the in-glasses menu. When idle it starts a route; while navigating it adds the result as a stop.

Navigation

• Search an address, saved place, recent place, POI, dropped pin, or map link to start a route.
• Route previews show up to 3 options before you tap Start.
• Add Stop inserts a waypoint without ending active navigation.
• Faster-route banners, rerouting, and the Resume bar stay available during normal phone navigation.
• Voice guidance modes are All guidance & alerts, Alerts only, or Off.

Route planner

• Open Route Planner from the three-dot controls menu.
• Import a GPX file, add waypoints, or build from Saved Places and Recents.
• Scenic preference dots in Route Planner bias route scoring; higher values increase preference without guaranteeing a road type.
• Imported GPX routes keep their original track, tolerate GPS drift, and offer Recalculate Back to Route for a forward rejoin path.
• Waypoint 0 is always your current position; Return to start adds your current position as the final stop.
• Round trip distance and duration target the whole loop, not one leg. Scenic uses up to five internal shaping points.
• Saved route templates can be reopened, used for a similar round trip, or deleted.

Deep Beta HUD map

• Display Map is controlled by Deep Beta in Alerts & Community.
• When enabled for Drive or MotoHUD, the HUD swaps turn arrows and instruction text for a live route map.
• Turning Display Map off rebuilds the normal arrow-and-text navigation layout.

Search, pins & saved places

• Paste a Google Maps link, short maps.app.goo.gl link, or coordinates into the search box.
• Long-press the map to drop a pin. From the popup you can navigate, save it, or mark parking.
• Tap Home or Work to navigate. Long-press either chip to reassign it.
• Star any destination to save it. Tap the pencil icon to rename it.
• Opening Saved Places or Recent Places hides the keyboard so the list is easier to view.

Map controls

• Long-press drops a pin.
• Double-tap zooms in.
• Hold and drag moves the map.
• Single tap on the map dismisses open destination dropdowns.
• The orientation button toggles north-up and heading-up. Recenter locks the map back onto your position.

Pocket lock & standby

• The lock bubble starts unlocked every app launch and is not saved.
• Triple-tap the lock bubble to lock or unlock phone controls.
• While locked, controls remain visible but only the lock bubble can be used.
• Glasses-only standby hides the full map and keeps the route instruction visible — tap 👓 Standby in the bottom bar while navigating. Saves phone battery on long drives.

Transit

• Navigaze uses Transitous by default. It is free and requires no key.
• Transit ambient mode shows the nearest stop's live departure board on the glasses.
• Ring-scroll cycles through up to 4 departures and shows walk-to-stop details on the phone.
• Tap a bus stop or metro marker on the map to open a live departure board.
• Transit route planning supports multi-leg journeys with walking connections.

Exercise tracking

• Bike mode can track a ride. Walk mode can track a run or walk.
• The phone bar and glasses HUD show active time, distance, and average pace.
• Pause excludes stopped time from pace calculations.
• Finished workouts are saved automatically in Workouts.

Alerts & reporting

• The orange report bubble files police, camera, accident, hazard, or closure reports under a random ID, not your name.
• When you pass an active alert, the Still there? prompt helps keep reports accurate.
• Camera markers come from OpenStreetMap and camera feeds published by public agencies.
• When media title and controls are off, the HUD uses that space only for active alerts.

Convoy

• Open Convoy from the three-dot controls menu.
• Create or join up to five convoys with an invite link, QR, or Convoy ID and invite secret.
• Joining a convoy route shares your live location with that group until you leave the route.
• Group sessions are saved on device so they survive app restarts.
• Chat, route, and location content use encrypted peer messaging; the relay only helps riders connect.

Night mode

Auto follows sunset and sunrise. Day keeps the phone map bright. Night dims the map and switches the phone UI to a dark theme.

If the glasses are too bright at night, say "Hey Even, set brightness to 10" or adjust brightness in the Even app.

EV chargers & nearby drivers

• EV charging stations from OpenStreetMap appear as markers on the map.
• Add an Open Charge Map key under API Keys & Subscriptions for broader charger coverage.
• Nearby Navigaze users appear as opt-in anonymous green glasses icons with delayed, temporary positions.

• 1.11.259 — Speed limits from the Navigaze server are now part of Navigaze Pro. Free installs keep posted limits from OpenStreetMap, where the road is mapped; Pro, or your own TomTom key, matches your road against commercial map data for more reliable limits. The Free and Pro table, the note after a drive and Privacy & legal now say so.
• 1.11.258 — Navigaze now speaks Simplified Chinese: the app, the glasses and voice search. A new Places & POI page in Settings lets you edit Home, Work and your saved places, move a pin to the right spot on the map, and keep an offline list of nearby places for when you lose signal. With Navigaze Pro, nearby search also includes TomTom's business listings.
• 1.11.246 — Privacy & legal now describes the usage counts. Navigaze has always sent a periodic heartbeat to its own server carrying a random install identifier and which HUD you have open, so we can see how many installs are active each day and which HUDs people actually use — the page never said so, and it claimed there were no analytics of any kind. It says so now. From this version the heartbeat also counts how many active installs are in each country, so the places people really drive are the ones that get better maps and speed limits. It is kept only as a daily total per country: no country and no location is ever stored against your install, and there is still no history of where you have been.
• 1.11.244 — Footpaths are back on the glasses map, drawn as dashed lines. When buildings arrived in 1.11.243 they were drawn at the same weight as a path, and in a built-up area the paths disappeared into the blocks — a dash is how a footpath has always been drawn on a map, and it is now how the lens draws one too. The trip and now-playing lines also moved down to the bottom-left corner rather than sitting level with the top of the map, which leaves the turn instruction the whole top of the lens.
• 1.11.243 — A bigger map on foot. In Walk, Bike and Transit the map tile is about half again the size it was, and it has moved into a corner of its own — so the turn instruction grew alongside it instead of being squeezed to make room. The blocks around you are drawn on it now, as faint outlines beneath the streets: on foot you recognise a corner by its shape long before you can read its name, and a map of bare lines gave you nothing to match against. Rivers, parks and rail lines still read the same way, and the walking legs of a transit trip get the same map with the instruction across the full width.
• 1.11.241 — Shared bikes and scooters moved to the map. They used to be a line of text on the glasses in Walk and Transit, which put a rental in front of everyone who was simply walking somewhere. Now they are pins on the phone map in Transit mode, beside the bus and metro stops — green for bikes, purple for scooters — because a shared bike is a way of making a transit trip work, and a map is how you see that there is a dock one street over. Tap a pin for the operator, how many bikes are left, how many free docks, and how far it is. Once you have unlocked one, tap Got it: Navigaze drops the bus journey, switches to Bike mode on the glasses, and re-routes to the same destination — whether you took a bicycle or a scooter, what you are doing next is riding. Searching bike share still finds them in any mode. Settings › Bikes & scooters.
• 1.11.239 — Privacy & legal, corrected. The page used to say that every map, route, alert and search request went straight to the provider. It does not: posted speed limits and address search go through Navigaze’s own server so they work with no key at all, and with Pro so do routing, live traffic, Live community reports, transit planning, voice search and nearby bikes and scooters. The page now says so, names the provider behind each one — including Mapbox for speed limits and the operators’ own GBFS feeds plus CityBikes for shared bikes — and spells out what that server sees, how long it keeps it, and that it never builds a history of where you have been. Refresh rates now match what the app really does, and the contact address is help@navigaze.org.
• 1.11.235 — Navigaze now shows you the nearest bike or scooter you can rent. Switch to Walk or Transit and the glasses name the closest one — how far it is, who runs it, and how many are left. For docked systems it also shows free docks, because a station with bikes but nowhere to return one is only half a trip, and a station that is closed or empty is never offered. It covers about 1,250 systems in 47 countries — Capital Bikeshare, Citi Bike, BIXI, Divvy, Vélib', nextbike, Dott, Lime, Bird and Voi among them — reaching 95 of the world's 134 largest cities. • 1.11.231 — Night mode now darkens the map as well as the app: after dark (or with the theme set to Night) the phone map turns dark — the same map with every business, landmark and transit stop, just recoloured — so the screen stops glowing in the car. Every panel, sheet, and prompt was checked in the dark theme and the few that had lost their colour cues — the saved-place star, the pass-by thumbs, the map pin buttons, the controls button — were fixed; the What’s new list is readable in daylight again. Driving with no route set, road alerts now only call out what is on the road you are actually on — a camera on a cross street or a parallel road stays quiet. Alerts also ask the phone to duck your music instead of pausing it every time they sound, and the debug log now records what the phone does with audio, so a music-pause report can be traced.
• 1.11.229 — Navigaze now offers your usual trip before you search for it. It quietly notices where you drive and when, so when you open it at a time you normally go somewhere — the morning commute, the drive home, the Saturday run — the destination is waiting on the map. One tap routes it. If you have Home and Work saved it starts guessing straight away; otherwise it takes three or four trips to learn a pattern. All of it stays on your phone and glasses — nothing is uploaded, and no route is calculated until you tap. Turn it off or clear your history any time in Settings › Predicted destinations.
• 1.11.228 — The glasses have their own menu now. On Even App 2.2.9, tap then long-press the glasses and Navigaze's commands are right there: Voice Search, Add Stop, End Route while you're navigating, plus Pause and End tracking during a ride or run. No more taking over the whole lens to end a route — the full menu is still a double-tap away for browsing saved places and Explore. The turn instruction also stands out more: the trip line and now-playing row sit a step dimmer behind it, same size, just quieter. On an older Even App everything works exactly as before.
• 1.11.222 — The Bike and Walk mini-map grew up. The map tile is nearly twice the area, it names the street you're on and the one your next turn leads onto, and the view sits lower so more of the road ahead fits on the lens. Rivers, parks and rail lines now appear as faint outlines, so a glance tells you the water is where it should be.
• 1.11.214 — Privacy, in full. Settings › Privacy & legal now names every service Navigaze touches: voice search and the microphone, Convoy's end-to-end encrypted relay, what the Pro subscription server keeps for billing, and your music connections. It no longer suggests that nothing ever leaves your device.
• 1.11.203 — A steadier lens. On the Motorcycle HUD, an active police or camera alert now holds the status row until you're past it — a song title never covers a warning. The Drive HUD keeps one fixed arrangement whether or not music is playing, so the layout never shifts mid-drive. And Minimal mode now falls back to a plain text speed readout whenever the glasses link is struggling, so your speed never just disappears.
• 1.11.201 — Every HUD mode's settings, on one page again. The "Fine-tune this HUD" fold is gone: position on lens, media controls, widgets and speed readout are all visible at a glance in each mode's panel. And your HUD now starts clean — widget slots default to None, so the lens shows only the essentials until you add the time, temperature or other measurements you want.
• 1.11.200 — HUD customization, front and center. Open any mode under Settings › HUD modes and its widget picker is right there — Drive's three companion measurements, Motorcycle's compass, speed style and widget stack, Bike and Walk's row-one widgets — with position, media and speed-readout tuning folded neatly below. Lens-position options now read plainly as "Top of lens" and "Bottom of lens" in every language.
• 1.11.199 — Nothing fails silently anymore. Search now says when it's your connection rather than your spelling, a failed music tap shows an X instead of a fake confirmation, a transit outage no longer reads as "no transit here", and if spoken guidance isn't available in your language the app tells you once instead of staying quiet. Night reminders wait until you're parked, overlapping alert banners take turns, and the "Track a ride?" prompt asks once per drive, not on every mode switch. Plus translated speed-limit and media labels on the glasses for all six languages.
• 1.11.198 — Simpler, and more honest with you. Every HUD mode's tuning now folds behind one "Fine-tune this HUD" row, route options (tolls, motorways, ferries) live in one place under HUD modes, and voice search plainly says it's included with Pro. One name set everywhere — Drive, Motorcycle, Bike, Walk, Transit, Minimal — and the group feature is Convoy everywhere. The glasses now tell you when a route can't start instead of silently returning to the menu, media titles show up reliably in Bike, Walk and Transit, and position sharing and Convoy are opt-in from this version on.
• 1.11.173 — The glasses menu now leads with where you're going: double-tap the glasses and Voice Search, Saved Places and Recents are right at the top — say a destination and drive. Mode switching moved below them (the round button on the map is still the quickest way). Also: the phone's controls button now fans out in a tidy aligned column — settings first, then lock, audio, north-up.
• 1.11.172 — Works out of the box, and now it says so. The welcome tour is two quick cards instead of three ("Search. Start. • 1.11.170 — The map is just a map now. The compass, audio, lock and settings buttons fold into a single controls button at the bottom right — tap it to fan them out, exactly like the mode dock. The recenter button only appears once you've panned away from your position, and the orange report button shows while you're moving or navigating — parked, it steps aside.
• 1.11.169 — A calmer map screen. The six HUD-mode buttons now fold into one — tap your current mode to fan out the full list, pick one, and it tucks away again. Tips and banners (resume route, parking, key suggestions) now take turns instead of piling up, and they wait politely until you're done with the safety notice and welcome tour.
• 1.11.166 — Clearer voice search. If your glasses microphone doesn't pick up any sound, Navigaze now tells you to check mic access and speak into your glasses — instead of a puzzling "No speech heard." Make sure the Even app has microphone permission, and speak while wearing the glasses.

Navigaze now runs on Even's latest SDK, which sends images to your lens much quicker — the map, speed, and turn arrows update more responsively and read noticeably cleaner. Also: if navigation ever pauses while your phone is in the background (a call, music, or a locked screen), Navigaze now shows you how to fix it — set Even's Location to Always in iPhone Settings → Even → Location.
• 1.11.158 — More control over your route: avoid motorways and avoid ferries are now in Settings, alongside avoid tolls. And navigation is steadier on iPhone with the screen off — if the GPS stalls while the phone is locked it now recovers on its own instead of leaving the HUD frozen.

No ads and no third-party trackers. No sign-up. Trip history, workouts, health data and API keys stay on your device only; with Navigaze Pro, home and work, favourites, recents, saved routes and settings are also backed up to the Navigaze server unless you switch backup off.

Map tiles, open routing and open-data requests go straight to each provider. Address search and posted speed limits go through the Navigaze server on every install, tagged with a random install identifier. With Navigaze Pro, routing, speed limits, search, transit, traffic, live community reports, voice search, and nearby bikes and scooters all go through that server, which holds the paid keys for you.

That server sees the coordinates or the search text of the request it is answering. It keeps your most recent speed-limit position for up to an hour so the same stretch of road is not paid for twice, and monthly request counts against your license. It does not keep a history of where you have been.

Where data comes from

• Map tiles & position — OpenFreeMap for tiles; GPS via the Even Hub SDK native location API on iOS and Android.
• Drive / bike / walk routing — TomTom for traffic-aware routes, through Navigaze Pro or direct with your own key; otherwise Valhalla, then OSRM.
• Transit routing & departures — Google Routes with your key, or the shared key on the Navigaze Pro server; then HERE Transit with your key; then Transitous, free and keyless. Stop boards come from Transitous.
• Speed limits — Mapbox or TomTom road matching through the Navigaze Pro server, with Navigaze Pro; TomTom direct with your own key; otherwise OpenStreetMap via Overpass. Not shown in Transit mode.
• Fixed cameras — OpenStreetMap + 35 camera feeds published by public agencies and open-data programmes. Always free, no key.
• Live incidents — TomTom, through Navigaze Pro or your own key.
• Live community reports — OpenWeb Ninja, through Navigaze Pro or your own key. On when you add a key or Pro; switch off in Settings.
• Community alerts — Navigaze community server (on by default, anonymous, no account — your position is sent about every 60 s while the app is open; switch it off under Alerts & community).
• Convoy (group rides) — Navigaze Convoy relay (opt-in). Position and chat are end-to-end encrypted with your group password; push-to-talk voice is mixed on the relay, so it is not end-to-end encrypted.
• Bikes & scooters — GBFS operator feeds and CityBikes, about 1,250 systems, read by the Navigaze Pro server so your device never contacts an operator. Navigaze Pro; switch it off in Bikes & scooters.
• Navigaze Pro — PayPal for checkout, the Navigaze subscription server for license checks, and Resend to email your license. Navigaze never sees your card details.
• Weather — Open-Meteo. Free, no key.
• Address search — TomTom through the Navigaze Pro server or direct with your own key, then Photon, then Nominatim. Geocode.maps.co is optional.
• EV chargers & places — OpenStreetMap and Open Charge Map with a key.
• Voice Search — a commercial speech-to-text provider, reached through the Navigaze Pro server, whenever Pro is active. Otherwise the clip goes straight to the provider you picked: Groq, OpenAI, Deepgram, Soniox, AssemblyAI, Speechmatics, Gladia, Rev AI or Google STT. Local Vosk never leaves your device.
• Media providers — AppsBridge for Android media, Spotify Web API, Subsonic for Navidrome, Sendspin for Music Assistant, or MusicKit plus your own token relay for Apple Music. Spotify sign-in bounces through a Navigaze-hosted redirect page that stores nothing.
• Workouts & health — saved on your device. On Android, AppsBridge can sync Health Connect workouts and totals after you approve Health Connect access. Strava export is built but not switched on yet.

How often data refreshes

• No active route — speed limit at most every 6 s, and only after a real road change: about 150-400 m travelled, a turn, or 2 min. Cameras, alerts, and weather once at launch, then every 10 km.
• On a route — route fetched once and re-fetched if you leave it; faster-route check every 2.5 min; speed limits pre-fetched for the whole route and cross-checked every 12-30 s; traffic incidents at most every 3 min or once you have driven 5 km, and at least every 10 min; weather once at start.
• Bikes & scooters — Transit mode only, about once a minute or after 150 m.
